    Technology is indeed very versatile and manipulative.  Because of this, a learner can have control in exploring the virtual world. Yet, if not guided, the students can have misconceptions. Therefore, as teachers, we must set definite objectives and instructions for the learners to follow. These instructions must be clearly stated and coherent.

Educational Technology 2: The Software as an Educational Resource


There are a lot of softwares that serve different purposes that could help in many ways. It does not help only on businesses, formal projects and entertainment, but also in learning. The following are the types of software.



                There are plenteous softwares in our computers. If we are knowledgeable enough about their uses, we can use them effectively and productively. These softwares serve specific uses and as teacher, in order to employ them, we must be able to identify the purpose that they intend to serve. We must use them appropriately and correctly. We can employ them in our instruction so that learning would be fun and interactive.

Educational Technology 2: Cooperative Learning With the Teacher

One of the most effective strategy in learning is done collaboratively. Students share ideas and exchange information with each other, therefore maximizing learning. And when technology is employed to it, then learning would be much more fun and interactive. The following are the components of collaborative learning.




         Learning is best when shared and interacted with other learners. Cooperative learning would be a best strategy to make your students explore and inquire ideas from each other. The use of technology and employing this strategy would be very effective. Hence, learning is optimized. Again, the teacher’s guidance is very vital. The teacher should check each group and observe their interpersonal skills. He/she must identify a definite set of objectives so that the students will be able to set their goals and divide their work properly.

Educational Technology 2: Information Technology in Support of Student-Centered Learning


Traditional and Student-centered learning classrooms have advantages and disadvantages. Yet, in modern days, student-centered learning approaches were much preferable than the old one.







Learning should be student-centered. The students should get involved in authentic tasks and hand-on experiences to attain better learning. Students should also be active in acquiring knowledge through discovery and exploration. By the use of information technology, students can gather vast amounts of information to discover. They can also share, interact and communicate with other people to maximize learning. Yet, the role of the teacher does not end. The teacher must be an active facilitator and guide for the students.

Technology have been a useful tool especially in education. Thus it serves many uses and purposes which have helped us in our lives for convenience and and efficiency. The following are the uses of the computer in the teaching and learning process.

Hence, technology especially computers would serve many uses.  Computers can be a communicative, situating, constructive, co-constructive and informative tool. The appropriate use of the computer would optimize learning. With these uses, learning would be more fun, interactive, informative and broad.

Educational Technology 2: Computers as Information and Communication Technology

 Through computer technology, educators saw the amplification of learning along computer literacy. The evolving pace of innovation in today’s Information Age is so dynamic that within the first decade of the 21st century, computer technology in education has matured and transformed into an educative information and communication technology (ICT) in education.



      Technology’s role in education in the 21st century is vital. Yet, technology is also an essential tool in communication. By the use of technology as an educational and communicative tool, learning is more creative and interactive. And so, proper use of these technology and appropriate integration is needed to achieve learning goals. Teachers must properly choose the appropriate software or technology to use in a certain instruction or topic.

Educational Technology 2: Higher Thinking Skills Through IT-Based Projects

    There are four types of IT-based projects which can effectively be used in order to engage students in activities of a higher place of thinking.




   Whatever method that we use, it is the students themselves that would demonstrate higher thinking and creativity skills. The effectiveness of these methods would be on the students. They are the prime beneficiary and so, what they need is proper guidance. It is important they we play our role as facilitators and assessors of learning. Although all of the skills cannot be acquired fully in a single project, it still contributed a lot to the development of the learner’s thinking skill and creativity.
